Job overview:  

Schneider is seeking a Senior Logistics Purchasing Manager in Green Bay to work with internal and external parties to develop an overall procurement strategy and operating plans. The Senior Logistics Purchasing Manager will have a deep understanding of customers’ supply chains and objectives and how they measure success. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team of procurement leaders. 
  • Establish long- and short-term strategies and actions that ensure compliance with operating plans and targets. 
  • Drive procurement system improvements to increase automation. 
  • Establish strong working relationships with supply chain leaders and transportation providers to ensure cost optimization and risk mitigation. 
  • Participate in the selection process of suppliers and manage supplier performance. 
  • Oversee metrics and lead conflict resolution when goals aren’t being met. 
  • Be involved in industry groups to shape initiatives and stay current with industry trends. 

Skills and qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement, transportation or logistics experience. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent leadership skills. 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology tools that enable carrier qualifications, contract management and procurement execution.
